Field of Interest Funding Cycle

Grants are awarded annually.

Full applications are due by March 1st of each year (or closest business day) and applicant agencies must be providing services in Dallas County in one or more of the following areas:

• Arts
  The Dallas Foundation supports the arts through the Jean Baptiste "Tad" Adoue, III Fund
• Critical Needs
  The Dallas Foundation considers emergency requests for critical needs through our Safety Net Fund. Non-urgent requests from agencies that meet critical needs are funded through the Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund and The Jalonick Family Memorial Fund for breast cancer.
• Animal Welfare
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants for animal welfare through several field of interest funds, including: Louis B. and Mary Ratliff Fund, Erin Wylie Fund, and Betty Pope Fund
• Older Adults
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants to serve older adults through two field of interest funds: Annie L. Stevens Fund and the Elizabeth T. Robinson Fund
• Low-income Children and Adults
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants to serve low-income children and adults through several field of interest funds, including: Annie L. Stevens Fund, Elizabeth T. Robinson Fund, Bertice Carter Speck Fund and The Jalonick Family Memorial Fund
• Abused & Neglected Children
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants for abused or neglected children through the Annie L. Stevens Fund and The Jalonick Family Memorial Fund.
• Disabled Children
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants to serve disabled children through three field of interest funds: Annie L. Stevens Fund, Bertice Carter Speck Fund and The Jalonick Family Memorial Fund
  
• Blind or Deaf Children
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants to serve blind or deaf children through the Bertice Carter Speck Fund
• Children with Debilitating Diseases
  The Dallas Foundation awards grants to assist low-income children with debilitating diseases such as diabetes or cancer through the Morris Hartley Morgan, Jr. Fund
• African-American Citizens
  The Dallas Foundation supports African-American citizens through the Lucile W. and George R. Pattullo Fund

Grant Restrictions

Field of interest funds are generally not available for:

• Organizations that have received grants from Field of Interest or Unrestricted funds from the Foundation within the preceding three years
• Multi-year grants
• Annual fund campaigns, underwriting of fundraising events, and marketing campaigns
• Religious purposes (although we do support educational and social service programs offered by faith-based organizations)
• Organizations located outside Dallas County, unless at least 50 percent of the clients served are residents of Dallas County
• Debt retirement
• Research
• Endowments
• Individuals
