Vickery Meadow Assistance Fund

VickeryThe Vickery Meadow neighborhood of Dallas has recently been spotlighted in the news as home to the first case of Ebola confirmed in the United States. This densely populated neighborhood is home to a diverse cultural community of foreign-born newcomers.

The backlash from this attention has had negative consequences for a neighborhood already plagued by poverty, affecting residents' ability to work as well as the delivery of volunteer services within the community. In response, The Vickery Meadow Assistance Fund has been established at The Dallas Foundation, to support nonprofit agencies assisting families in this neighborhood.

The Dallas Foundation will work closely with the community, nonprofits in the area, and local authorities to ensure that support is focused on the immediate needs of families in Vickery Meadow.
