Providing Disaster Relief to Canton Tornado Victims

Several tornadoes touched down in East Texas on the evening of Saturday, April 29, causing loss of life and widespread damage. If you are interested in supporting the relief efforts, the organizations below are providing direct support to the areas affected:

  • Salvation Army is providing support to search and rescue efforts, and working closely with the Incident Command and partner agencies to provide appropriate assistance to victims. Click here to donate to the Salvation Army: give.salvationarmyusa.org/cantontornado

  • The American Red Cross is partnering with other local disaster assistance organizations to open a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for those impacted by the April 29 tornadoes.     NBC DFW, Telemundo 39 and Kroger are teaming up to help Texans impacted by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding. Through May 20, 100 percent of the donations made at the check stand will be donated to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

  • Texas Baptist Men trains volunteers and coordinates efforts to provide prompt assistance and emergency support during times of disaster.
