DALLAS (Jan. 22) -- Susan Turnbull, founder and principal of Personal Legacy Advisors, LLC, will present “The Wealth of Their Lives: Practical Approaches to Help Clients Create Lasting Personal Legacies” on Friday, Feb 2. Well known for her appearances in The New York Times and USA Today, Turnbull is regarded for popularizing “ethical wills” as a way to hand down family traditions and values, and for developing strategies to help discern and define donor intent.
Presented by The Dallas Foundation, the oldest community foundation in Texas, the seminar will be held from 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at The Belo Mansion, located at 2101 Ross Avenue in Dallas. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $80 per person.
“It’s becoming increasingly important to people to pass on more than money or material goods to their heirs,” said Gary Garcia, senior director of development for The Dallas Foundation. “The seminar will equip professional advisors with the tools to help their clients integrate their love of family, sense of duty or faith into their estate documents, ensuring those values are handed down to future generations.”
Turnbull is the author of The Wealth of Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide for Creating Your Ethical Will and co-author of Across Generations: A Five Step Guide for Creating an Expression of Donor Intent. She is a member of the Essex County Estate Planning Council, the Purposeful Planning Institute and the Association of Personal Historians.
“The Dallas Foundation has long-been a resource to help professional advisors fulfill their clients’ charitable goals,” said Turnbull. “I look forward to sharing forward-thinking solutions and personalized opportunities, so this legacy of giving can continue for generations to come.”
