The Dallas Foundation offers a variety of grants to nonprofit agencies across Dallas.
To be eligible for a grant, an organization must be a tax-exempt, nonprofit agency that serves a variety of charitable purposes. All of our competitively awarded grants go to agencies that serve Dallas County, unless otherwise noted.
Given the ongoing impact of COVID-19, The Dallas Foundation has decided to prioritize existing nonprofit needs and therefore will not accept new grant applications for the spring 2021 Field of Interest Funding Cycle.
Instead, our Community Impact Team will review the $97 million in unfulfilled grant requests submitted via the North Texas Cares online application portal and, where possible, award grants based on the parameters required of each of our field of interest funds. We expect to finalize all spring 2021 grants by early April 2021.
Please note, the North Texas Cares application is not currently accepting any new applications. Organizations must have previously submitted a request to be considered during this funding cycle.
The Dallas Foundation awards grants from two types of funds: Field of Interest funds and Community Impact funds.
The Field of Interest funding cycle opens in the spring and consists of various funds that are named for the donors who established them. Field of Interest funds are focused on a specific cause or issue based on the donor's interest(s). For more information on our Field of Interest funds, click here.
The Community Impact funding cycle opens in the fall. The Dallas Foundation's Community Impact Fund serves as our general endowment and supports of a variety of causes for the betterment of our community. For more information on our Community Impact funds, click here.
