At The Dallas Foundation, we believe lasting change happens when communities come together to address the root causes of inequity. One of our valued partners in this work is Social Venture Partners (SVP) Dallas, an organization dedicated to advancing social justice through collaboration, leadership development, and strategic philanthropy.
By bringing together engaged community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic resources, SVP Dallas strengthens the social sector and expands opportunity across Greater Dallas.
What SVP Dallas Does
Through capacity-building partnerships, SVP Dallas helps nonprofits focused on eliminating social injustice strengthen leadership, operations, and long-term impact. These organizations gain access to strategic guidance, skills development, and peer networks that enhance their effectiveness and sustainability.
SVP Dallas also develops informed and engaged community leaders. Its partners build the knowledge and tools needed to address complex issues such as economic inequity, barriers to education, housing instability, and health disparities. This shared learning model ensures that giving is guided by data, lived experience, and community voice.
Why This Work Matters
Many of the challenges facing Dallas communities are rooted in long-standing systemic inequities. Addressing these issues requires more than short-term solutions – it requires collaboration, accountability, and sustained investment.
By focusing on capacity building, leadership development, and systems change, SVP Dallas helps tackle the underlying conditions that perpetuate inequality. Its work supports nonprofits and community leaders in creating long-term pathways to justice, opportunity, and stability for individuals and families.
Our Collaboration
The partnership between The Dallas Foundation and SVP Dallas spans more than two decades and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening philanthropy in our community. In the early 2000s, The Dallas Foundation helped support SVP Dallas during its formative years, serving as its home as the organization established its model and mission.
As SVP Dallas has grown and matured, that relationship has come full circle. Today, the organization maintains agency funds with The Dallas Foundation, continuing a legacy of collaboration rooted in trust, shared purpose, and long-term impact.
Over the years, The Dallas Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 in board-directed and fundholder-recommended grants to support SVP Dallas’s capacity-building programs, leadership development efforts, and community convenings. Many of our donor-advised fundholders have also supported SVP Dallas through grants and active membership. Beyond financial investment, we continue to partner closely to connect leaders, share insights, and amplify community-driven solutions that advance equity and opportunity across Greater Dallas.
