Partners for Progress: The Senior Source

At The Dallas Foundation, we believe a strong community is one where every individual can age with dignity, safety, and connection. As North Texas’ older adult population continues to grow, ensuring seniors have access to trusted resources, advocacy, and protection is more important than ever.

That’s why we are proud to partner with The Senior Source, an organization that has spent decades empowering older adults and their families through comprehensive services that promote independence, financial security, and quality of life.

Why This Work Matters

Aging should never mean facing challenges alone.

Many older adults experience isolation, financial hardship, difficulty accessing essential resources, and, in some cases, abuse, neglect, or exploitation. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day serves as an important reminder that protecting older adults requires not only awareness but meaningful action, advocacy, and community-wide support.

Organizations like The Senior Source work every day to ensure older adults have the tools, resources, and support systems needed to live safely and confidently.

What The Senior Source Does

For more than 60 years, The Senior Source has served North Texas by connecting older adults, caregivers, and families with critical services and support.

Their work includes:

  • Elder financial safety and abuse prevention programs
  • Caregiver support and guidance
  • Senior advocacy and community education
  • Resources that help older adults maintain independence and quality of life

Through education, direct support, and advocacy, Senior Source helps create a community where aging is recognized as a stage of life, deserving dignity, respect, and opportunity.

Our Collaboration

The Dallas Foundation is proud to support organizations that protect vulnerable populations and strengthen the well-being of our community.

Our partnership with Senior Source began in 1963 and represents decades of shared commitment to supporting older adults across North Texas. Through our Community Impact Fund, field-of-interest funds, and Women’s Philanthropy Institute, The Dallas Foundation has awarded more than $630,000 in direct support to The Senior Source.

Together with our fundholders, total grantmaking support for The Senior Source has exceeded $1.4 million, demonstrating a long-standing investment in programs that help older adults remain safe, connected, and empowered.

How to Support The Senior Source

Donors, fundholders, and advisors can help advance The Senior Source’s mission through strategic philanthropic support that protects older adults and expands access to essential services.

Support may take many forms, including investments in elder abuse prevention, financial safety initiatives, caregiver support, and programs that reduce isolation and help older adults maintain independence.

Support can also extend beyond philanthropy through volunteer opportunities that make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults. Whether serving as a Friendly Visitor to combat isolation or providing Money Management Support to help seniors maintain financial security and independence, volunteers help strengthen a community where older adults can age with dignity and connection.

Philanthropic investment and community involvement ensure more North Texans can age with dignity, security, and the support of a community that values them at every stage of life.
