Kristi Allen is an accomplished finance and accounting executive with more than 20 years of experience leading high-impact initiatives across both corporate and nonprofit organizations. She brings a unique blend of Fortune 500 expertise and mission-driven leadership. Prior to joining the foundation, Kristi served as Vice President of Finance at NextUp, Inc., a 15,000-member professional association founded in Chicago. In this role, she oversaw accounting, budgeting, finance, IT services, and compliance, while also leading digital transformation and system migration initiatives to modernize the organization’s infrastructure.
Earlier in her career at Microsoft, Kristi supported the finance and accounting integration for major acquisitions, including LinkedIn, Mojang Studios (Minecraft), and GitHub. She served as the Deal Controller on the $7.5 billion GitHub acquisition and presented the accounting integration roadmap in London. She later served as a Senior Manager at McKesson Corporation, leading domestic and international accounting operations and earning the Director’s Spotlight Award for her role in the Change Healthcare joint venture. Kristi’s commitment to nonprofit work began in 2010 when she joined Education is Freedom as Controller. That commitment continues to shape her work at The Dallas Foundation, where she continues to support initiatives that help families and children achieve long-term success.
Kristi holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy from Texas A&M University–Commerce and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Texas. She is an active member of NABA, the AICPA, and the Texas Society of CPAs. Outside of work, Kristi enjoys reading, traveling, mentoring, exploring wineries, and attending live music events. She values spending time supporting her godchildren in volleyball and football and is committed to servant leadership, continuous learning, and helping others reach their full potential.
