Partners for Progress: Builders of Hope

At The Dallas Foundation, we proudly partner with organizations that do more than meet immediate needs. They change systems that hold communities back. One of those partners is Builders of Hope, a Dallas-based nonprofit focused on building stability and opportunity through equitable housing and neighborhood transformation.

What Builders of Hope Does

Builders of Hope creates and preserves quality affordable housing while revitalizing neighborhoods and influencing policies that promote economic mobility. Since its founding in 1998, the organization has built more than 500 homes across Dallas. It has created over 1,500 construction jobs and directed millions in grants and subsidies to help families build generational wealth.

In a city where many neighborhoods face gentrification and displacement, Builders of Hope is leading the Right to Stay movement. This effort helps long-term residents remain in their communities and thrive as development grows around them.

Why This Work Matters

Affordable housing is more than a basic need—it’s the foundation for education, health, and financial success. Without stable housing, families face constant uncertainty. Children struggle to focus in school. Parents have fewer opportunities to build savings or equity.

Builders of Hope helps fill this gap. By ensuring access to affordable homes, they strengthen families and open doors to lasting economic progress.

Our Collaboration

The Dallas Foundation supports Builders of Hope’s vision for stable neighborhoods and equitable housing. Together, we channel resources, build partnerships, and amplify impact across Dallas communities. By investing in this work, we’re helping more families find security, opportunity, and hope close to home.
