The Dallas Foundation Awards Nearly $2.7 Million Through 2026 Summer Grant Cycle

DALLAS – Oct. 5, 2026 – The Dallas Foundation, the first community foundation in Texas, has awarded 97 grants totaling $2,686,500 to nonprofit organizations helping Greater Dallas families meet essential needs, access healthcare, enjoy parks and public green spaces, and strengthen their mental and emotional health.

Following a competitive review, The Dallas Foundation awarded grants in four areas:

  • Family Economic Stability: 69 grants totaling $1,782,000 for food access, housing, education, workforce training, and other services that help families build stability.
  • Healthcare Access: 17 grants totaling $495,500 for medical, dental, vision, and other care for children, families, and older adults facing barriers to healthcare.
  • Parks & Recreation: 8 grants totaling $237,000 for parks, trails, recreational spaces, and public green spaces.
  • Mental and Emotional Health: 3 grants totaling $172,000 for programs that advance mental and emotional health through care, education, and community-based intervention.

“Behind these grants are neighbors working toward greater stability and nonprofits helping make that possible,” said Vickie Allen, Chief Impact Officer of The Dallas Foundation. “Our nonprofit partners understand the challenges families face and bring the expertise and relationships needed to respond. Thanks to our donors’ generosity, these grants will help more of our neighbors put food on the table, get the care they need, and access welcoming places to gather and play.”

The Summer Grant Cycle is made possible by donors who established funds at The Dallas Foundation to support causes they care about, from healthcare access to parks and green spaces. These funds entrust the Foundation with identifying and vetting the nonprofits best positioned to meet those needs today, including organizations a donor may never have encountered on their own. Grant decisions follow a review by Foundation staff and approval by the Board of Governors.
