Texas’ First Community Foundation Issues 300+ Scholarships Ahead of Next Academic Year

DALLAS – July 26, 2021 – The Dallas Foundation, the first community foundation in Texas, is proud to announce it has awarded more than 300 scholarships, totaling more than $1M in support, to students pursuing their educational journey.

The Dallas Foundation offers a wide array of scholarships, including school-specific scholarships, scholarships for certain areas of study, and employer-based scholarships. Upon receiving this year’s applications, the Foundation engaged committees specific to each scholarship to review and select awardees.

“The Dallas Foundation is committed to advancing education access and equity for individuals to reach their full potential, and we are proud to award these scholarships to truly outstanding students in our community,” said Matthew Randazzo, President & CEO of The Dallas Foundation. “When a recipient receives scholarship funds it not only provides monetary support, but also signals our faith in them, in their ability to continue their educational journey and positively impact our community.”

“I am honored to receive a scholarship from The Dallas Foundation to help me pursue a music degree from Jackson State University, an HBCU and one of the best music programs in the south” said Jair Ramirez, 2021 recipient of the Nicol Williams Scholarship and graduate of Dallas ISD Sunset High School. “The support of The Dallas Foundation and its generous donors through this scholarship, will help me pursue my dream of returning to Dallas and working with to support future students with their music education.”
